Many of Jet Airways’ flights are quite full and you might need to be quite flexible on the return, especially in the month of March since many of the tickets which we are allowed to offer in this price are sold out.  We may need to put you in the waiting list to get you an offer in this flight.  We will request the help of Jet to get the seats cleared, but we will also book you in another airline so that you will not be inconvenience.

For those of you who have not taken Jet Airways before, it is one of the success stories of India’s private sector.  Its flights are on time, the service is excellent, and has a very young aircraft fleet.

Alternatively, we can book two separate tickets, one between NYC and Delhi, and a round-trip between Delhi-KTM, if the prices in Jet will be less than any competitor.  Prices may go up by USD  50-150.

There are Jet daily flights from EWR and JFK which both connect in Brussels and stop in Delhi.  Even with the five hour layover in Delhi, you can reach Kathmandu in less than twenty six hours.  Many of the morning tickets get sold out on weekend flights in which case your transit and flight times will be longer.

On the return, you can take the afternoon flight from KTM to Delhi.  There is a longer wait in Delhi on the return, but this might still be the best flight with only one stop and an affordable price.

There were three obstacles why we suggested that you don't travel through Delhi and there have been improvements in all three fronts:

• Flights from Europe and America reached in the night, and the connecting flights continued the following morning.  Jet has added a flight in the morning at 6:30 AM and that would reduce your time at the airport.
• Luggage Check In: Luggage is checked automatically all the way to Kathmandu
• Hassle from Police and Airport Officials: Since you don’t leave the airport and your luggage is checked all the way to Kathmandu, there is no room for harassment.
